7 medication must have when travel

When you are traveling for work or leisure, it is strongly encourage for you to pack something for emergency that is medicine. You wouldn’t want to disrupt your travel moment and fun by yourself or with your travel companion. In this article we will share our thoughts on what kind of medication you need to pack before you travel.

Long term medications
If you are on any long-term medications (e.g. for high blood pressure or diabetes), it is important to visit your physician to get enough or extra supply for the duration of the trip.

Motion sickness tablets are one of the most common medicines one should have, especially when the trip involves long flights, boat rides or land transfers. These medications include dimenhydrinate and cinnarizine, which may cause drowsiness.

Non-drowsy alternatives include ginger tablets or travel sickness bands that are available in pharmacies.

Little sniffles and the like
Paracetamol or ibuprofen can come in handy when you need relief for slight headaches, pain or fever. For individuals with minor food, pollen or dust allergies, antihistamines may be the perfect solution when you’re traveling.

Besides, antihistamines can also provide relief from runny nose. Throat lozenges are useful when relieving sore throat or a dry cough.

When traveling, always remember to bring along anti-diarrhoeal medicines, especially when visiting places with poor sanitation.

Charcoal tablets and pharmacy-only medications like loperamide or diphenoxylate/atropine can alleviate diarrhoea, or stop unnecessary bowel movements.

When taking such medications, remember to replenish the salts and water lost through vomiting or frequent watery stools!

Customised medicine for country you are traveling to
Before your trip, research on the country you’re visiting and find out if there are infectious diseases in those areas. Then, consult a doctor or pharmacist for recommendations on the suitable medications you will need.

Per doctor advise
You may wish to consult your doctor for other essential medications that are required, for instance, vaccination, and hormone tablets for ladies.

It is hence important that you see a doctor before your trip and obtain medications for any relevant health problems.

First aid & lotion
Overseas trips are always hard to predict – bringing along a mini first aid kit will have you prepared when you or your travel companions get minor cuts and blisters.

If you’re all out to bask in the sun, remember to protect your skin by applying sunblock with the right SPF. Aloe Vera gel or moisturisers can also be used on sunburn areas to soothe the pain.

Travel Experience in Perth

Reaching Perth

Not too long ago I share my post about Holiday in Perth on my another blog which is on Sam Salleh. It is just a brief post on some of my activities in Perth. There are some post I have yet to publish it on Sam Salleh and also Travel Relieve Stress. However this is the link to the post about Holiday in Perth if you would like to read about it. In this post will be more about my personal travel experience around Perth, Western Australia.

I was in Perth, Western Australia from 5th of March to 9th of March 2017. This holiday is a generous treat from my uncle to me and my younger brother. I had always wanted to visit to Australia and doesn’t really matter which part as long it is Australia. This is because I always heard lots of stories saying good thing about Australia. To be exact Perth is on travel bucket list and coincidence I got this travel treat from my uncle.

Nasi Lemak for breakfast in Perth Western Australia

Flight from Singapore to Perth took us 5 hours and 10 minutes. Upon arriving Perth, I find that the immigration was quite strict in terms of health and foods that you brought in. I was been told if a person who found to be sick will be deport back to their country and whatever foods you brought in have to declare with the immigration. I feel that this kind of measure the government took is quite good. No wonder I hardly heard any of such epidemic outbreak in any part of Australia.

During my stay in Perth, I notice that most of the food were quite costly. On average the price of food can cost between AUD$8 to AUD$16 per meal. There are some places do sell food that are less costly such as Subway

One of the buses in Perth

and some other fast food restaurant. Even though the food consider costly, the portion you got for your food is worthwhile that it will really make you feel full. In fact you could even share your food with someone. On top of that what you pay for are basically the quality of the food.

Apart from the strictness of immigration and the cost of food, the most important factor I love the most is the friendliness of accessibility for the wheelchair person. The pavement for pedestrian was wheelchair friendly even though there are curbs but it is still possible for wheelchair to overcome and maneuver. Apart from the pavement, I notice all the buses are wheelchair friendly and the ramp are open automatically. It is not steep for wheelchair to board and alight the buses.

Bus fares consider quite expensive but there are some buses do offer free bus ride and it is applicable in the free zone

Catching sunset at the beach.

area. You can always check with the locals or even the bus drivers to be sure if the ride is free or not. Before you go somewhere, do check with the locals about the distance. This is because if it is nearby, you could take a walk which will save your traveling expenses. Alternatively if you have a driving license, you could rent a car but you need to book it 1 week in advance.

There are so much more to experience in Perth and in fact this is one of the most convenience place for physically challenged as most of the places are wheelchair friendly in Perth. I really feel totally independent when moving around in Perth and in fact for any physically challenged on wheelchair is not a wrong choice of place for holiday. Perth is one of the recommended place for all physically challenged especially on wheelchair.

Flight ticket cost me a bomb

This year 2017 I have plans on traveling to London and meet up my best friend Shaifulbahri who is working there currently as Theater Practitioner. Planning on budget is always a must thing to do before travel. Budget such as flight ticket, accommodation and daily expenses including transportation needs. To kick start with I go online to check on the prices for the flight ticket. I wanted to look for something different airline that offer something different. This is what I found online that really shocked me.

Boeing 737 will be entirely for you only if you take up this service.

2 way ticket from Singapore to London and vice versa would cost me USD$677,800! You read it right, USD$677,800 for 2 way ticket. The price is crazy isn’t it. Yes it is so super expensive because it is so super exclusive. It is super exclusive because the entire plane or jet just charter for you ONLY. Imagine you are in Boeing Business Jet 737 and in the plane it just only you and all the service attention to you and no one else. This is because there is no other passenger and it just only you in the jet.

I just learn that there such flight service much more better than business class and first class. I would rather call it as high class flight because the flight service is privately charter just for you only. You can literally sit in any seats you want and in fact you can run around the jet after take off. The check in will be fast cause it just you only and you will be the first to board and alight the jet. There so much more about this private charter flight service. These service are meant for those who have lot of money to splurge at and in other words this service also suitable for high net worth individual.

I may not be a high net worth individual for now but I will make my dream come true by flying in super exclusive flight with style. At least I will get the experience on the service being offered and what it feel like to travel in more private environment. This shall add on to my travel bucket list.

Pearl International Hotel

This is our room for 2 people. It has 2 bed and it is well maintained.

27th November 2016 there is an event I need to attend at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Therefore I brought one of my team members along to attend together with me. Since I be going to Kuala Lumpur via bus, I have decided to stay over for 1 night only. Therefore I am in KL from 26th to 27th November. The booking was been arranged by my upline. As usual this post was not being endorsed by the hotel nor am I getting paid for it.

Pearl International hotel receive numerous awards and compliments

Pearl International Hotel is where we checked into. I was been told that the hotel is a 4 star hotel. It seems that the hotel has received numerous complimentary award from various corporate and organizations. Upon receiving the key, I quickly check into my room to settle down with my team member who is co-share with me. When I stepped into the room, I am quite pleased with the room as it is clean and well maintained. Therefore I could settle in comfortably.

The toilet are clean and well maintained too. The floor tiles are not slippery but always stay caution for own safety.

The toilet equip with the basic toiletries necessity such as soap, shampoo and others. Hand towel and towel are also provided.

There is a plus point about the room. I did not know until my team member who shared room with me told me about it. He spot on the ceiling there a marking of direction for a Muslim should face when he or she performing their prayers. This little thing really does help for the Muslim as it make thing easy for us. In other words, we don’t have to trouble ourselves by finding the direction for our prayers. I must say I am quite impressed by this.

After looking through the room, it is time to check out the toilet. The toilet have all the basic toiletries necessity such as toothpaste, soap and shampoo. It is well arranged and the condition of the toilet is quite clean and well maintained. However the toilet is not friendly for the physically challenged and senior citizen for showering. This is because to shower he or she has to get into the bathtub. Therefore these group of people can’t be left alone as extra assistance and monitoring are required.

This is the bathtub that less friendly for senior citizen and physically challenged guest. Therefore they need extra attention.

The room is equipped with WiFi but the signal was not that strong. The best time to use WiFi is during the night time. This may due too many guests tapping the signal during the day. Even though the WiFi signal may not be that strong, at least it is available as internet has become our primary necessity nowadays. Even though there are some downside for this hotel, it does not really make this hotel really look bad because it has something to it.

This is one of the amenities can be found within this hotel. Too bad didn’t manage to check it out. Kenny Rogers restaurant happen to be next to this coffee house.

The good thing about this hotel is it has a convenient facility or amenities in it and around it. Within the hotel or I would say beside the hotel there are departmental stores for the guest to shop. There are some electronics stores around whereby you could buy gadgets and accessories. There is a bookstore by the name of Popular can be found there. There are few more which I didn’t manage to explore. Most important thing is there are couple of cafes and restaurants can be found within the hotel.

Breakfast is included in this hotel as it is came with the package. Honestly there nothing special about the breakfast being served in buffet style. However what I been told is that this hotel is the type of health cautious. The chef prepare the food by ensuring sugar and salt are not too much. Fried food must not be too oily. More fruits and vegetables are being served too. My first time encounter such healthy hotel.

In my point of view as a physically challenged person, Pearl International Hotel considered good to stay hotel. The only downside to this hotel is the toilet only. The amenities around the hotel are wheelchair friendly as you can get around easily. So this hotel will be on my recommended hotel in the list. Hopefully I can make comeback again for more review on this hotel.

The best moment of my life

Took photo with the cabin crew of Cebu Pacific Air.

Took photo with the cabin crew of Cebu Pacific Air.

Base on my travel experience via air, I always wanted to do something once the plane has landed. The thing that I always wanted to do was to take picture with the cabin crew and also with the pilots for memories. I just started this picture taking with cabin crew this year 2016 in the month of September when I travel to Philippines.

I did manage to take photo with the cabin crew and the pilot of Cebu Pacific Air. It was an awesome feeling for me personally. I know for other passengers, this kind of photo taking or even selfie/wefie photo with cabin crew and the pilot mean nothing for these passengers. For me personally I must say again it is indeed an awesome feeling. In fact I have plans to take more photo of these moments with cabin crew and pilot from any airline.

However there is another more exciting and more awesome feeling when I took photo with the cabin crew and the pilot. The more exciting and more awesome feeling I am referring to is taking photo with a pilot in the cockpit. On the 24th September 2016, I on my way back to Singapore from traveling to Philippines. I always the first passenger to board and last passenger to alight the flight as this is the procedure to assist passengers in needy such as senior citizen and physically challenged.

in-the-cockpitBefore I step out the plane, I ask permission from the cabin crew if I could took photo with them together with the pilot. The crew gave a yes to me cause they are also excited to take photo with happy passengers like me. I took a couple of shots and then the co pilot invite me to take photo with the captain at the special place. I didn’t know he was referring to the cockpit and in fact I was so surprise to get the privilege to take photo in the cockpit. Therefore in my next trip regardless to any destination I am going to, I shall took photo with the cabin crew and the pilot. If possible took photo in every cockpit.

Frequent Flyer to Philippines

Miles for frequent flyer to Philippines

Miles for frequent flyer to Philippines

If you have been frequently flying to Philippines, you should do something about it so that you could save more and spend less. Not many people are aware about it therefore this information shall be share with you. There a disclaimer has to be made in this post whereby neither me as the author/blogger nor Travel Relieve Stress is/are being paid for such endorsement for this post.

Philippines is not the first country that I travel to but it is my first time to travel there in 2013 with my best friend. The first time I landed in Philippines, my heart feel so connected. In that year alone I been to Philippines for 3 times. Then in 2015 I traveled to Philippines twice and twice again in 2016. Earlier this year 2016 that I have decided to take a little bit serious to my traveling.

I have been thinking if I were to travel to Philippines frequently, are there any ways that I could do to make it cost saving on my flight cost? I make some online research and found an interesting information that will benefit to those who travel frequently especially to Philippines. The information which I found are basically discussing about mileage points or miles in short.

To put it simple is basically when I have mileage points, I could redeem it for flight ticket at a discounted rate or for free. However to enjoy such privileges, you must be a member of those airlines that gave such privileges. Currently there are quite number of airlines does provide such privileges.

Through my research I have found 2 airlines miles program. I am referring to Philippines Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air. The name of membership are as follow, Mabuhay Miles and GetGo. Of course there are other miles programs that are available too. For me I go for either these 2 programs because the Philippines airline and Cebu Pacific goes to main airport in Philippines and also domestic airports in Philippines.

Not all major airlines goes to the domestic airport therefore you need to take other airlines as your connecting flight. You may or may not earn those miles points for those connecting flight for other miles program. So if you frequently fly to Philippines, consider go for Mabuhay Miles or Get Go. If you already have an existing miles program, that is good for you and you could consider of having an additional miles program to your travel adventures.

World Traveler

hot-sauceLast 27th October 2016, my younger brother just came back from Perth, Australia for 1 week holiday. He went there with our uncle. Our uncle recently decided to retire from his job in Changi Airport and since he is quite free, he decided to go to Perth with his good friend from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and bring my brother along. I found that our uncle choose to go to Perth because flight ticket to Perth is cheap. He bought the ticket from Malindo Air.

My younger brother always have this habit whereby when ever he travel to any country, he always hunt for caps for himself. Of course he always bought something for me, our sister and our mother. As a saying goes, family come first. However he bought something very interesting. World Traveler Hot Sauce Collection. A box consist of 15 hot sauce from 15 different country/state. Below is the list of countries/state where this hot sauce came from:

  1. Sydney
  2. Lousianna
  3. Jamaica
  4. Spain
  5. India
  6. Cuba
  7. Kenya
  8. Hawaii
  9. Brazil
  10. China
  11. Egypt
  12. California
  13. Turkey
  14. Thailand
  15. Mexico

We were planning to try each sauce with some food such as pizza, fried chicken or anything. We were planning to make a video on it and share our experiences on what it taste like and which kind of food will goes well with. The video will be upload on YouTube. I am really looking forward for this experience.

jackfruit1Last 17th September 2016, I followed my brother, his wife and his son back to Philippines. We went to Wao Lanao Del Sur a province where my sister in law used to grow up before. Up to date that is my fourth time I have been there. I always looking forward to go back to my sister in law province whenever she ask me to come along with her. The place is cooling as it is surrounded with hills and it give a beautiful view of nature.

We took off from Changi Airport and landed in Francisco Bangoy International Airport. That airport is located in Davao and that is the first time for my brother and I to land in that airport. Previously we always landed in Laguindingan Airport which is located in Cagayan De Oro. From Francisco Bangoy International Airport we took a taxi after we have negotiate the fare with the driver. The journey took us almost 5 hours ride. We find it that travel from Davao to Wao Lanao Del Sur is much more faster compared to from Cagayan De Oro to Wao Lanao Del Sur.

jackfruit2We reached home almost 7 in the morning. My sister in law mother prepare coffee and bread for breakfast and we took a rest after breakfast. Around mid morning while we were resting, one my sister in law sibling came by to the house and bring something for us. She brought Jack fruit for us to eat. The Jack fruit is big and the size is almost my body size as you can see the picture shown. In my entire life, this is the biggest Jack fruit I have ever seen. The taste is sweet and you can’t finish it alone at one go. Now I am looking forward to go back to Wao Lanao Del Sur again for more surprises.

A’Famosa Resort

A’Famosa Resort located in Malacca, Malaysia

On 27th and 28th August 2016, I have a team building and leadership convention to attend to. It is held in Malacca, Malaysia. The convention was conducted at a resort, A’Famosa Resort. Therefore I have to put 2 days 1 night in that resort. Before I continue with this post, I need to make a disclaimer. I not being paid or endorsed for this post. All the contents are base on my personal experience.

This event came with breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is served at the restaurant just below the meeting room and it is served in the buffet style. Honestly all the food that we tasted so far there is nothing special to it. So we don’t really looking forward to it. The only thing that we find it is not too bad are basically western cuisine. We tasted the lamb chop and find it satisfactory cause the meat was well prepared and easy to chew. As for the sauce it was nice. Overall for the food rating I will say it is fair and nothing that fantastic at all.

Room and Services
After we got our room keys from our event facilitator, we go straight to our room. To enter the room there a little curb at the doorstep. That cause very little unfriendliness for those who are on wheelchair like me. The room was spacious and you are allowed to smoke inside the room. In the room there are 2 toilets for us to use which is 1 for you to take shower and the other is for us to do our private business. The room for private business is very small and the floor is considered quite slippery as they using wall tiles as the floor tiles.

I would suggest not too draw open the curtain cause you may have unpleasant viewing outside your room. I was unlucky for my room facing to unfinished construction site. Apart from that, the room has super weak WiFi signal. It is so weak that only 1 person able to log in. I did ask some feedback from other participants who attend the same convention as me. Depend on which floor your room located, there are no WiFi signal at all.

In the room there is a food menu for the guest to order their food. I plan to try the food even though I am still full from my meal. Therefore my room mate happen to be my younger brother and I order some food. We place our order with the room service close to 11pm. We waited for almost 45 minutes and our food have not arrived. Give a call to them and they apologized for the delay due too many orders. Room service did mention that our food will arrive 30 to 45 minutes. Well we waited for quite sometime till we fell asleep. Anyway I include a link to my YouTube video. The video is on the room tour.
